I love MOPS
Today I went to my first MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) meeting. They are some of the most wonderful ladies I've ever met. This year the theme is The Adventures of Motherhood. We are going to learn about how to love being mother's now and not always looking forward to when the kids can sit up, walk, are potty trained, out of car seats, fill in the blank. All too often I do that and really I should be enjoying my three boys where they are at right now. They are great boys and always make me laugh. My oldest Noah said something so funny on the way to preschool the other day. I was going a little fast, because we were running a little late and he says, "Mommy are you driving too fast or what?" I looked down and realized I was going 10 over on Olive so I replied, "Well, yes I am." He says "What do you want, to get caught by the Cops?" That made me laugh, which was great because he had been pushing me to my limits up until then.
Today, Noah kept asking me what Blues meant. So, I was telling him it meant a lot of things, like it's a color, music and how someone feels. He kept asking me over and over and finally I said, "I'm not sure I understand what you are asking, ask someone else." With that he leans over to the baby, Elijah (11 months old) and says "Baby, what does Blues mean?" Elijah replied, VERY LOUDLY, "Aaaagagagaga" over and over again. He has a very high pitched 'war cry' he has been doing lately every time we are in the car and for as long as we are driving around. I end up with lots of headaches, but he's a cutie.
Last night was a very hard night on the Bennett's. Elijah got up a few times and just cried and cried. Caleb also was up at 3 am. He started calling me and when I went and opened his door I was greeted with a big smile and Caleb saying, "Hi Mommy, downstairs?!" I replied, "No, not downstairs." He began begging for cereal and anything he could think of. I got in his bed and laid down with him, read him a few books and told him we needed to go back to sleep. I wake up a little bit later to find a bunch of cars on the bed next to me and Caleb saying hi to me again. I finally got him back to bed and had to spend the rest of my night with him. It was OK though. I like sleeping with that sweet little guy. I hope tonight proves to be a better night. I have a maternity session in the morning and I want to be ready for it. Sorry no pics tonight. I'll try and get some things posted tomorrow.
