A peek for Ameila!

Hey Ameila....hope you like the few I'm posting.  I had a lot of fun with you all and I think we did great!  Beautiful girls!

Hey, Elijah took 5 steps toward me when I got home.  It was very cool.  Before Saturday he had only taken one step.

Sunday Sept 28 2008 The Park

OK so I forgot to mention that we went to find this park I'll be shooting a wedding at Oct. 11.  It's called Indian Camp Creek Park in Wentzville, MO.  This was our second attempt to find this park and it was a success, but not before going 10 or so miles out of our way.  It's a pretty cool park with these big rock frogs and turtles all over the place.  The only problem I see is that there is NO shade anywhere to be found.  I'll have to pray for an overcast day.  I think we should be able to do some nice and fun pictures here.

Kirkwood 5K

Everything on me and in me was sore Sunday morning at 6am when I was getting up for the next 5k of the weekend.  I knew that I would only be walking.  What I did not plan on was bringing the police car in.  :)  We were almost dead last.  My back had been giving me trouble before the Saturday night run and still was not perfect Sunday and on top of that I was sore from running.  Anne's ankle was giving her problems and she had both of her boys with her, so all that put together put us almost last.  I put the time sheet on the blog to have proof that we were not actually THE LAST!  It was a fun walk.  At the end there were things for the kids to do, my son Noah was with us, but he went ahead with Aunt Jenn.  He did not slow us down once he went on.

Before the run they had a memorial for the people who died in the court house Feb. 2009.  It was really nice.  The color guard and bag pipes were there.  802 runners signed up for the run and more than 643 were actually in the run.  Some of the people I was with didn't sign up, Noah was not registered and I'm sure a lot of the other kids were not officially registered either.  It was a great event.  They had a lot of treats after the run.  We got water while on the course and bottles of water, soda and even beer after.

We wrapped up the weekend with marshmallows at the neighbors house in their fire pit.  It was yummy!  The boys loved it and I have to admit so did Byron and I.

New Town's 5K

Well, I actually did it.  Anne and I ran about 12 minute miles.  She practically pulled me the whole way.  I think I would have given up if it were not for Anne.  So, thanks!  Now, about New Town that is an interesting place.  It's very Edward Scissor Hands like.  I had to include some pictures.  The place is beautiful,  but just a bit different.  I wish I had clients there because everywhere you look there's a backdrop.  There were a lot of people at the run.  I have to say I was a bit bummed out that I didn't get the goodie bag.  They did not do things very well.  They passed out the bags and shirts at the end, so you had to run fast enough to beat the first 200 people.  Then, they didn't give us water at the end and we had to STAND in line for shirts.  When you get done running you want to walk not stand.  But really, no water, come on!  We did get food tickets, but after we got our food Anne stepped off the curb and twisted her ankle.  Not because of any fault of her own.  They put this black mat over an uneven grate on the ground, so she couldn't tell that it was not even.  I'm not too sure I'll be doing that run next year, but I was proud to have finished it this year without walking!

Before the run we went to the block party at my parents house.  They always have the fire truck come by and see the kids.  It's a lot of fun and good bbq.  The boys stayed at the party with Ooma and Pop (Grandma and Grandpa).  They had a good time and ate NOTHING good for them.

Doctors and Arthur

Today I had to take Elijah back to the doctor.  We can't figure out why he has had a cough for over 6 weeks, but we have a new plan.  It looks like he's heading for another ear infection, so we have 3 new drugs to put him on to see if we can get this cleared up.  So, the pictures in the mirror are from the doctors office.  I just thought he looked so cute in his batman outfit at the doctors.

Once Byron got home from work we headed out to the preview party for Arthur's Picnic in the Park.  What a great event.  Sign up to be a kid's club member so next year you can go to this event.  They had magician, balloon artist, Mr. McFeely, Wyatt, Sid the Science Kid, Curious George and Arthur.  Caleb wanted to see Wyatt and Sid.  He was SO cute waving at them and smiling, but when it was our turn to go up, he freaked out!  We didn't make him go up.  He just stood next to me or daddy, whoever was taking the picture.  By the way all the pictures today are just from my little camera.  I will not be taking that camera next year because it took forever for it to take.  We had a tough time with that camera tonight.  Anyway, I still love the pictures.  We don't usually get to go out as a family and do something like this.  All the boys have an autographed picture of Mr. McFeely.  He was very sweet.  Once we left the boys wanted me to take pictures of them in the car on the way home.  I only added one of each boy not all 20 :)

I've got to get up early for my shoot so I'll get back tomorrow with some 5K pictures!

Two more jobs completed!

It's getting late and I'm watching the season premier of ER.  It is SO very sad!  On the up side of things I got to have dinner with my husband alone.  We went to Growler's Pub.  I had a great hamburger and Byron had some fish sandwich.  It was nice to have an hour and a half away from home.  I came home and finished two of my jobs that I needed to get done.  I added a few more of my favorites from the last maternity session.

I'm looking forward to this weekend, but it is going to be busy.  Tomorrow Byron and I are taking the boys to Aurthur's Picnic in the Park preview party.  Saturday I have a shoot in the morning, lunch with my sister in law, a block party and then a 5K run for New Town.  Whew!  Sunday I'm starting the day off with another 5K, church and off to check out a park I'll be shooting a wedding at on Oct. 11.  It will be a fast weekend.

Happy Birthday Byron!

Happy Birthday Byron!  Wow, this is the beginning of the last year in the 30's for Byron.  I am only 6 months behind him and NOT looking forward to 39.   We really don't feel that old.  Anyway, better him now than me :)  Elijah enjoyed some cupcakes with the family.  My parents came over and we had chili dogs and cupcakes.  Yes, Byron wanted chili dogs for his birthday dinner.  They were really good.  Noah really wanted Daddy to have cupcakes with rings in them, so my mom bought those.  One things Byron got for his birthday was a really cool book with fun places to take the kids.  I can't wait to travel and go to some of them.  The boys liked looking at the book and picking places they want to go to.  It was a nice birthday, I think.  His still trying to recover.  Today he felt a little tired and his neck was hurting.  The good thing is he went to be about 8.  That is about 4-5 hours earlier than normal.  I hope that will help him.  I'm going to get some work done and get to bed myself.

Yeah, the procedure is over!

Well, Byron made it through!  I only had my little camera with me, so the quality of the images is not the best.  Well for starters we got up way too early, but on the way in the sun was SO beautiful.  It was a big ball of red.  The picture does not really show how beautiful it was, but you can get an idea.  The doctors and nurses were WONDERFUL.  Byron did really well and says he would do it again.  Not to say that it didn't hurt, but the reward for him was greater.  After being poked, cut and everything he says to me from the hospital lounge chair "It was a good day".  That makes him sexy to me.  I love selfless love and he selflessly loved a man he didn't know today, very sexy.

I found a bible verse that works for today for us.  Ephesians 5:21 Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.  That is a verse to live by.

I'm looking forward to CBS tomorrow and going to bed before 11p tonight.  One story about Caleb before I go.  I'm not sure you'll get how cute is it not being able to hear him, but here it goes.  With Noah I sometimes start counting to get him to do something and it works!  Anyway, tonight I was trying to get Caleb in bed and I told him he needed to get in bed so I could read to him, or I was going to leave.  He was sitting on the floor with a book on his lap.  Right after I told him the ultimatium he said "One, Two, Three, GET IN BED!"  then he looks at me.  I just started laughing.  He was so cute.  It's bad when kids point out your behavior to you.  That is exactly what I do, count and then yell what I want him to do.  Not the best parenting.  I start a program called Love and Logic next week, I really hope it helps. :)

Wrapping up!

Well, I'm so glad to have wrapped up a few jobs today!  The Bat Mitzvah will be delivered Tues or Wed, yeah!  I finished and ordered baby announcements for beautiful Anna W.  It's good to have those two jobs completed.  I have just two more jobs to wrap up and I'll be caught up.  Just in time for my weddings and Elijah's first birthday party.  October is a busy month.  I've got a couple weddings and several shoots, but besides that I'm starting training to become a Stephen's Minister.  I'm excited to start the training.  I've already gone through it, but it was 12 years ago and I've been out of it for a while.  I decided to become one again to help with NILMDTS.  Stephen's Ministers are lay counselors.  I just want to be prepared in case one of these mothers or fathers who lose a baby ask me something or just need to talk and pick me to talk to while I'm doing their photos.  It's good to be prepared.

Tomorrow is the big day for Byron.  I'm glad it's coming to an end.  He's been in more pain today than the other days.  I hope that after tomorrow he will begin to feel a little better.  We have to get up WAY TOO EARLY!

For now I just thought I'd show you little Anna's cute behind and Joy who was recently Bat Mitzvahed (not sure if that is really a word).

Good night for now
